There is a season - turn, turn, turn

The days just keep coming and going like they are supposed to, and we just keep staying busy! I have yet to get to school and start working in my room... Thinking about going back is really hard, I have LOVED being able to be home with my girls. Hopefully this week I can start going in the evening to get things going.

Although we have been "busy" we really haven't been. We have just had lots of visitors this past week and lots has been going on here.

Keeping the girls on a schedule puts a bit of a damper on too many outings and adventures. We really have sacrificed a lot to keep them on a schedule but that is what we think is best for them right now. As a good friend has reminded me many times, "happy and healthy babies need sleep to grow, learn, and play." It is so hard sometimes when other mommies are out doing fun things with their littles and we are at home playing because nap time will be here before we know it....

In saying that our schedule had a few bumps last week... Avie went back to the hip doctor on Friday morning (right in the middle of a nap). They took another X-ray to see what progress, if any, had been made. The doctor told us that her hip has moved slightly but still isn't where it needs to be. He said to give her another 10 days in the brace and then we will reevaluate again. Her tendon by her hip is very tight which doesn't allow her to let her leg open very far to the side. If her hip won't improve more with the brace, they will need to go in surgically to release that tendon a bit. She would then be casted for 3 months. If the brace is working, she will be in some type of bracing until she is nearly 1. He said that no matter what she is in, she will still be able to reach milestones like crawling and possibly even walking with a brace or cast. That seems crazy to me but, I am not a doctor who has been doing this for lots of years. So, we are just going to trust his word and go with the flow.

Ella is moving like crazy these days. You literally cannot turn your back for a second or she will have rolled 40 miles away. She is a fast little stinker and is on the move! She hasn't mastered the crawl yet, but kind of does like a backward crawl movement, nothing forward quite yet. She also has found that she can take her socks off with her mouth...as you can see from the picture below of what I saw on the monitor the other morning.
Her and our dog Hillis have started a "band" together. She plays her baby piano and he sings (howls), she laughs and laughs at this. It's pretty hilarious to watch.

We have some visitors coming this week, and are excited to see Pappy and Zaide. The following Saturday, assuming all is the same with Avie, we are set to go on vacation with Josh's family. Any advise on traveling and beaching with babies is welcome! :-)
