7 months later...

Well, we've made it to 7 months, if you had asked me if I thought this day would ever come about 4 months ago, I would have told you NO! The girls have come a long way, and still have a long way to go. But, I am so proud!

This month has been a whirlwind of doctors appointments it feels like. As you know, we found out about Ava's hip dysplasia this month and she has been in here brace since then. We went to the doctor this week and he said her hip has found its place but, it is still popping in and out. This means that when we go back on August 1st if it is still popping in and out she will have to be casted. We also went to the eye doctor for Ava's eyes this month. The doctor didn't take long to examine her and tell us that she definitely needs eye muscle surgery to correct her eyes. (My poor little girl! :-( ) We scheduled that for September 7th early in the morning. Apparently, this surgery is only a 45 minute out patient procedure with no eye patch or anything. Just a few eye drops incase of infection and some pain meds. I'd like to think of that part as good news.

Ava:

Other than all of the medical stuff Ava is "dealing" with, she's great! She's such a little trooper! She has two bottom teeth, and working on more, I think. We just started trying out our sippy cups today, and stage 2 food. She loved her chicken and noodle baby food, she didn't really love the sippy cup... She is actually already getting stronger just by having the brace on. She loves to sit up, and play in her exer-saucer, (with lots of supervision) she also loves to jabber, and blow raspberries! She's the most gentle little girl I've ever met. She loves to touch your face and rub you with her leg when you're feeding her. The definition of sweetness = Ava! <3

Ella:
Ella is perfectly healthy as far as we know! She is still our little mover and shaker, she isn't EVER still! She is into everything and wants to crawl so bad she can't hardly stand it! She is saying "mum mum" when she wants to get your attention and has learned how to "fake" whine while saying it. She also enjoys "fake" coughing. She loves peek-a-boo and just about anything she can get her hands on. Her and our dog still have a strange bond and she cracks up at him whenever she gets the chance. She also enjoyed the new food and couldn't really get how the sippy cup worked either today. Ella is a force to be reckoned with, a woman after my own heart! <3

Sometimes it hurts because I love you so much. Watching you both grow each day is my favorite thing in the world! Happy 7 month birthday love bugs, can't wait to see what you discover this month!
