Little hands

I've always had a thing for hands. I know people by their hands; my Mom's hands are distinct to me for all of the times they rubbed my back and held mine. My Dad's hands are distinct to me for all of the times I would watch him write lesson plans, or notes, or play the piano. My Grandma Penny's hands were one of the most distinct hands in my life for how delicate and gentle they were. I wonder if the girls will know my hands this way...

As the girls have grown the things I notice most about them are their hands. How tiny they were and how I used to manipulate them to hold my finger. Now those tiny hands move themselves and find their way to my cheek or my own hand. They grasp things and hold on tight with their thin little fingers.

They both have distinctly different hands. Ella has Josh's hands and Ava has mine. But these tiny hands are so much more than the comfort and memories of others that I love. These little hands already have made such a difference in my life, and I can't imagine my life without kissing those little hands everyday.

Our girls are changing so much; not just in appearance, but also in personality and ability.
Ella is pulling herself up on anything and everything. She tries to walk with us when we hold her little hands in ours. She loves to open and close her books, and as always; she loves stealing anything Ava has right out of her hands or mouth. We have very recently started bathing them together in the tub. They love it! They love the water, splashing, and playing with each other. It's definitely my new favorite time of day to watch them interact. They are both noticing each other more and taking an interest in each other. Watching that bond continue to form has been awesome! Ella has three teeth and is cutting two more on the top. Ava has two bottom teeth and is cutting two more on the top. They love to eat and right now really enjoy graham crackers. Ava is starting to roll and roll like Ella did right before she started to crawl. She definitely is interested in trying to crawl but, it hasn't quite happened yet. We go back for her hip on Halloween and I am eager to hear what he thinks. We go back for her eyes at the beginning of November and hope that we have a good report in that department as well.

If I could freeze time I would, it seems that I blinked and a year has passed. I knew I obviously would love these four little hands, but the love I feel for them each new day is out of this world.

Happy 10 months little girls my love for you is incomprehensible!
