15 months.
Normal people in this world stop counting months as birthdays around the age of 2, don't get used to this, we won't celebrate month 478...most likely... But for now let's get back to month 15 while we still can!
I rocked both of you to sleep tonight. (That's basically a "no-no" these days!)
Ava when I rocked you tonight, you studied my face so intensely. You rubbed my cheeks, ran your fingers through my hair, gently touched my eye lashes and then pressed your forehead to my lips. Your sweetness literally oozes out of you.
Ella, Dad brought you in next and you basically tried to push Ava out of my lap for your turn. You immediatley find your spot on my shoulder and snuggle in, you have just recently started rubbing my shoulder as I rub your back. You are like a Sour Patch Kid, sweet and sour when you want to be! It is always a surprise to me as to how much you are still a "Momma's girl" even though you are Miss Independent. (You can always be both!)
Let's be real the next time we use the number 15 to describe your age you will be young ladies!
I have decided to write a list for you this month...
No, not a list of things that I love about you.
No, not even a list of the top 15 moments of your life thus far.
A list of things that I want you to know in general; the next time we celebrate the number 15.
You should know...
1. Everything seems like the end of the world when you are 15. It's not, there is so much more!
2. Know that you are smart, valuable, and loved.
3. Dare to be different when everyone else seems to all be the same.
4. A kind heart will take you much farther in life than a push up bra!
4. Push yourself and set goals, you are worth it!
5. Having a few honest and trustworthy friends is much better than having a "fan club" those "fans" don't follow you around after high school is over.
6. Even though friends are important, your family will be here forever.
7. Be silly, laugh really hard, and have lots of slumber parties!
8. Your body is your temple, take care of it, and respect it.
9. Find something you enjoy doing and stick with it, you might end up being really good at it!
10. Read--anything!
11. Talk to people who are different from you and learn from them.
12. Be honest.
13. There is plenty of time for boys, enjoy your friends.
14. When your emotions get the best of you music can help, writing can help, and I can help.
15. This age will pass as quickly as it will come. Don't wish your life away, enjoy every minute and be present!
Happy 15 months/15 years someday----a long, long, long time from now! :)
